Thrill and Views on the Angels Landing Trail

Starting from the Grotto Trailhead, the trail climbs steadily via a series of switchbacks known as "Walter’s Wiggles" before reaching Scout Lookout. From there, the real adventure begins—gripping onto chains while navigating a narrow ridge with dramatic drop-offs on either side. The final push to the summit is both thrilling and nerve-wracking, but the view at the top overlooking Zion Canyon is absolutely breathtaking. I recommend starting early to beat the crowds and avoid the midday heat. Make sure you have a permit (now required), wear sturdy shoes, and bring plenty of water.
