"Lamphun's Hundred Thousand Lanterns Festival"

The offering of a hundred thousand lanterns was made to pay homage to Phra That Hariphunchai and to pay respect to Queen Chamadevi, the first ruler of Lamphun. During the Yi Peng festival, Lanna people like to decorate their houses beautifully by lighting candles or lighting bright lanterns throughout the festival.
