#September2024 It is about 40 kilometers away from Chiang Mai. It only takes 40 minutes by motorbike to get away from tourists and reach the small town of Lamphun. Lamphun is the oldest city in northern Thailand. It was the capital of the Hariphunchai Dynasty as early as the 7th century AD, 500 years earlier than Chiang Mai. It can be said to be an ancient town. Today I would like to recommend Pratu Ta Nang ประตูท่านาง, a landmark attraction in Lamphun. It is an ancient city wall located at the entrance of Nanben Town, next to the Namkhang River. Legend has it that the ancient Lanna goddess Chamdevi once traveled by boat from this place to travel between Wat Hariphunchai and Chiang Mai. There is a pedestrian path in the middle of the river in the ancient city for people to walk, rest and enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Nankang River. The wall design is in Lanna style, similar to the castle walls along the lakeside of Chiang Mai. It is a good place for tourists to experience the tranquility of Nanfeng and take photos.
