Visit Fushimi Inari, the filming location of “Memoirs of a Geisha”.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is a famous shrine dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Lies at the base of Mount Inari, Kyoto, this shrine is best known for the path of a thousand torii gates, familiar to every Japanese enthusiast. This place is more prevalent when becoming one of the locations to film the epic movie “Memoirs of a Geisha.” The dominant orange color is an epic scene for photo taking as well. When you go to Fushimi Inari, you will meet many visitors walking through the thousand torii gates. The exciting thing about the torii gate is each gate has its donor’s name; those who donated the gate and their wishes at the shrine came true. Many Japanese companies and celebrities’ names are printed on the side of the gate.
