#Emotional Cafe The cafe is connected by a bamboo path reminiscent of Arashiyama Chikurin from the entrance. When you enter the hotel's main gate, there is a reception, and inside, a restaurant & bar is connected from 1F to BF1. Outside, there is a pond with a history of over 800 years located within the hotel grounds. It is a rare place that only guests or restaurant users can see because it is hidden like a fortress from the outside. The view from the Four Seasons Kyoto guest rooms overlooking the pond garden called Sekisui-en is spectacular. In the center of the pond is a Japanese cafe called Houju. Today's afternoon tea will be held here. Since it is pouring rain, even the sound of raindrops falling into the pond is beautiful. Afternoon tea begins while looking at the million-dollar view alone. A glass of champagne is also included. The appetizer is followed by a Monaka with a Kyoto-style feel, with warm Hojicha poured on the spot. The Monaka itself was delicious. Two boxes came out next. One was savory and the other was sweets made up of Japanese desserts. You can order one of three types of tea. The Hojicha in Monaka is rich and deep, so I chose it as tea. It was even more perfect on a slightly cold day with rain. Each one is a feast of works of art. The staff is alone, like in a one-person cafe. They explain afternoon tea, and say that the pond garden is covered in cherry blossoms, which is spectacular, and also talk about the opening of the Osaka Four Seasons. They take pictures and give you information about the next season. You can slowly soak in the Kyoto atmosphere while contemplating and chatting. It's the best place to feel relaxed. It was even better because it rained. After paying, I passed the pond again, and the cherry blossoms that had started blooming early and the carp swimming added to the tranquility.
