#ryoanji #zentemple #kyoto One of my favourite temples in Kyoto - it’s the only one I’ve been to every time I’ve set food in the city - and rightly so; whether it’s when the sakura trees are in full bloom, or when it ignites in autumn gold, Ryoanji is a space for calm contemplation and absolute relaxation. The 15 rocks that make up its masterful Zen garden are like planets in their own philosophical orbit - that is, they’re there for you to make of them as you wish. The surrounding gardens and lotus-filled lake are similarly breathtaking, so take a long, deep, cleansing breath, free your mind and just be for a moment or three. Hope you enjoy the experience!
