The birthplace of Kunqu Opera - Qian Deng Ancient Town, Kunshan.

Qian Deng Ancient Town is located in the Yangtze River Delta and is under the jurisdiction of Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. It has a history of over 2,500 years and is the hometown of the patriotic scholar Gu Yanwu and the birthplace of Kunqu Opera. Qian Deng was originally called "Qian Dun", named after the Wu-Yue War. There are seven arch-shaped ring dragon stone bridges built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties across the Qian Deng Pu River in the town. Important attractions include Gu Yanwu's former residence, Gu Yanwu's tomb, the thousand-year-old ancient tower - Qin Feng Tower, and the Gu Jian Memorial Hall.
