Keelung Fortress Command Headquarters

The Command Courtyard was originally the Keelung Fortress Command Headquarters and is now a century-old historic building open for public visits. In addition to the unique raft-style architecture, structure, and materials, the interior decoration is exquisite and grand, and the military defense facilities, including the air-raid shelters, are solid and robust. Some exhibition areas require tickets, while others are planned for cultural and artistic displays. There is also an interactive experience involving QR codes, one of which leads to English content, though it can be a bit tricky to operate on certain phones. As I was about to leave after my visit, I happened to encounter a group of visitors, some of whom were scholars. They were accompanied by a volunteer guide, and I joined in to listen to the guided tour. Through the explanations, I gained a deeper understanding of Keelung's local culture and historical evolution—it was truly an enriching experience.
