Khao Khat - Death Railway, Kanchanaburi

Hell Pass or Hellfire Pass is part of the Thai-Burma Railway or the Death Railway. Along the way, there are many points with rocky hills, mountains, cliffs or ravines blocking the way, so they had to be dug to create a channel for the train to pass through. Hell Pass or Hellfire Pass is the largest point on this route. Hell Pass Memory Museum is located at the Agricultural and Cooperative Promotion Division, Army Development Command, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province. The Hell Pass Memory Museum is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Behind the museum, there are stairs to walk down along the Death Railway route, which has been modified to make it convenient to walk around. It is an original railway, with some sections still remaining, wooden sleepers, and chiseled steel. It takes no more than 4 hours to walk around. You can also walk a short distance, which takes no more than 1-2 hours. The atmosphere on both sides of the road is a bamboo forest with large trees, creating a shady atmosphere.
