[Kamakura] Sasuke Inari Shrine

Go through dozens of torii gates and climb the stairs to reach the shrine. The stairs are quite steep, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. It is said that when Minamoto no Yoritomo was exiled to Izu, he had a dream in which he was encouraged to raise his flag, and he named the "Hidden Village Inari" Sasuke Inari and enshrined it. A sacred fox can be seen from the approach through the torii gate, and white foxes are enshrined everywhere in the precincts. Sasuke Inari Shrine is located deep in a quiet residential area.
