We had a truly memorable dinner at Tosca Italian Trattoria, located within the DoubleTree by Hilton in Johor Bahru. After a day of grocery shopping nearby, we decided to stop by for a relaxing dinner—and what a great decision that turned out to be. The warm hospitality greeted us right at the entrance, where we waited briefly at the bar while our table was prepared. Choosing to dine alfresco by the pool made the whole experience even more magical. With soft lighting and a tranquil atmosphere, it felt private and peaceful—perfect for a quiet evening. We ordered a variety of dishes: the buffalo cheese salad, creamy mushroom soup, seafood soup, carbonara, lasagna, and the standout—braised beef cheek in balsamic vinegar. Every dish impressed. The seafood soup was rich and packed with fresh ingredients, while the carbonara was perfectly al dente and generously coated in cheesy goodness. Special mention goes to our attentive server who noticed the kids would be sharing soup and thoughtfully split it into separate bowls without us asking—such gestures reflect top-tier service. And the beef cheek? Incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every element—from service to setting to flavor—was flawlessly executed. Tosca gave us a five-star dining experience without the pretense.
