Chaozhou people can't do without the custom of ancestor worship, accompanying their parents back to their hometown at the end of the year to thank the gods and sweep the tombs. I booked the Shuchen Hotel, which is the closest to the ancient city. Staying at this hotel is a real treat, and every detail surprised me! Having a hearty breakfast in the hotel's buffet restaurant in the morning is simply the best way to start a good day. The hotel staff is very attentive, and I really felt at home. I slept so comfortably in the hotel room that I completely forgot about the tiring day. The surprise of this hotel is that it offers a buffet dinner, and I also tasted the glutinous rice balls provided by the restaurant, which really felt like home! Other Chaozhou specialties are delicious and comparable to top restaurants!
