Fudan Graduate Year 2 ｜Weekend Escape from Shanghai, One-Day Trip to Jiaxing

🚞 The long-awaited Jiaxing one-day trip guide is finally here! 🚄 Shanghai South Station → Jiaxing Station 9:55-10:39 I recommend getting off at Jiaxing Station, which is closer to the city attractions and more convenient for transportation～ 1️⃣ Yuehe Historic District After getting off at Jiaxing Station, you can take the bus underground directly to Yuehe. It’s a typical Jiangnan water town style, but there are really a lot of people 🥲, so it’s not easy to take good photos. If you’re short on time, you can skip it. Personally, I didn’t find it particularly stunning～ 2️⃣ Nanhu Lake Jiaxing is full of shared electric scooters! Riding the little e-scooter is super convenient～ (though the helmet smelled a bit, maybe because it rained the day before?) It takes about ten minutes from Yuehe to Nanhu Lake, and it’s very comfortable to enjoy the breeze and the view 🛵 3️⃣ Zicheng Ruins Park A ten-minute ride from Nanhu! This place really surprised me～ The "Jianghu Bookstore" inside is great to browse, very atmospheric for photos, and it’s where my friends and I stayed the longest! There’s also an NPC performing timed drama scenes, highly recommended! 4️⃣ Catholic Church Right next to Zicheng Ruins, there’s a large lawn in front of the church, and a mall across the street where you can grab dinner ✌️ I suggest visiting during the day because the lighting isn’t great at night. The sunlight on the lawn during the day makes for amazing photos when lying down 📸 Return: Jiaxing Station → Shanghai South Station 20:55-21:50 Our high-speed train was delayed by half an hour that day, arriving in Shanghai at 22:20, but we still caught the last subway back to school～ You can use this as a reference for timing!
