There is no high or low aesthetics, so don't be too serious. Today I basically didn't go into many museums for a visit. I mainly took an outdoor tour of the venues' architectural designs, so I basically visited all the national pavilions to generate this repo post. Let me first talk about my overall feeling. Maybe it’s because I went to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, so I feel that the overall design of the 2025 Kansai Expo is very poor...The biggest feeling is that the pavilions of various countries are too limited to "pavilions", that is, functionality, lack of artistry, too conventional and without unexpected surprises. At the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, there were many surprising works of architectural innovation, such as the apple in the Romanian Pavilion, the radiating thorns in the British Pavilion, the silkworm chrysalis in the Japanese Pavilion, and the sand dunes in the UAE Pavilion... However, in this World Expo, there were basically no "works", only "exhibition pavilions", which felt much worse in terms of artistic design. Therefore, my subsequent evaluation criteria will mainly be based on whether it has broken through the shackles of "exhibition hall". Down Here is a summary of my 15 favorite pavilions (roughly ranked in psychological order): ❶China Pavilion. I personally love traditional calligraphy, so when I see various calligraphy works such as seal script and official script on bamboo slips, I can't help but love them! At the same time, I feel that the Chinese Pavilion ranks first in my heart due to the influence of Chinese aesthetic elements in its bones. ❷Japan Pavilion Annex——Golden Hat. Although there are many complaints online, the immersive feeling is still quite shocking. It is also the only relatively successful artwork in this World Expo that uses the sky as the background and creates an optical illusion. ❸Singapore Pavilion. The square shape of the "pavilion" was not chosen, but the vivid roundness of the sphere was used, and the fish scale surface appears very layered. ❹Life Museum. Flat 3D work, very unique. ❺Austrian Pavilion. The space is curved and has an Austrian feel. ❻Spanish Pavilion. It has a bit of the flavor of the 2010 New Zealand Pavilion's Sky Garden. The stepped shape is very layered. ❼Philippine Pavilion. Special materials make the appearance particularly vivid. ❽Saudi Arabia Pavilion. The whole venue feels very desert-themed. ❾Portugal Pavilion. The fringe look is very fluid. ❿Swiss Pavilion. The bubble shape is very novel. ⓫Serbia Pavilion. The exterior is covered with vegetation, which gives it a very ecological feel. ⓬Malaysia Pavilion. The wooden frame is staggered in shape, achieving a balance between rigor and liveliness. ⓭Thailand Pavilion. The mirror imaging design is very creative. ⓮Turkmenistan Pavilion. The appearance is very Central Asian, and one can tell at a glance that this is a Central Asian country. ⓯ Korean Pavilion. The Korean Pavilion is the dividing line between likes and dislikes. Although it failed to break through the limitations of the "pavilion", at least the large LED screen and carefully made promotional animations made the Korean Pavilion not as dull as other pavilions.
