The experience of taking the train up and down the hills is a great way to experience the local charm. There is nothing more relaxing than opening the window and seeing the sea, and spending time leisurely reading a book under a lemon tree in the yard facing the sea. 🚌 Transportation I mainly used trains and boats for this trip. The Ligurian coastal train route is very convenient, and the view from all the train stations is fantastic. You can buy train tickets on the Trenitalia app. Trains departing from Genoa are frequent and reasonably priced. Be sure to check in on the app before boarding. If you want to visit the Cinque Terre area, you can buy a Cinque Terre Pass and ride the train to Livanto unlimitedly. You can easily buy it on Trenitalia. From Santa Margherita Ligure you can take a boat or bus to Portofino, but in summer it is much more convenient to take a boat, as the buses are always full. 🍝 Gourmet Recommendations • Bagni Silvano Bar Ristorante • The local specialty **Pesto pasta** and fried seafood are delicious. • Pizzeria Street Food da Luca & Paolo Pieve Ligure • A small food stall, the pizzas baked on site are really delicious!
