A Landmark is over 1600 year old which dressed as a Church and Mosque

Hagia Sophia, also meaning “Holy Wisdom”, it is located in Istanbul, Turkey. One of the famous landmarks in Turkey. It was build as a Christian church in 6th Century and ended up as a Mosque in 2020. It is located in a in the centre of Istanbul with other famous attractions such as The Blue Mosque, Basilica Cister and Topkapi Palace Museum etc. So there will be plenty of places to see in one central location. Once you walk into Hagia Sophia, you will be amazed by the dark decoration. The central hall is ground floor which is not opened for public. All the visitors are allowed to access the second floor and walk around the Mosque. You find some Christian decorations on the wall and around the Mosque. The entrance fee is about $56 AUD and I suggest to buy the ticket online before visiting to avoid the queue to buy ticket. Because even a warm day, it is very unpleasant to stand on a long queue without cover. Another highlight is Hagia Sophia Museum near the Hagia Sophia. The entrance fee is $20 Euro. It is not a typical museum for visitors to look at display items. Instead a small group will be guided by a staff to walk around different rooms where they use different visual effects and presentations to tell us the history of Hagia Sophia. It is very interesting way to learn about Hagia Sophia.
