Spend about an hour exploring the old corridors and panoramic viewpoints. ✨ Late Morning: Walk downhill to the Old Castle ruins. The short hike up from Royal Palace (about 20 minutes) is worth it for the ancient Buddhist prayer flags, crumbling walls, and another fantastic view of Leh (the best viewpoint in Leh). ✨ Afternoon: Head to downtown for lunch and spend some time exploring it during the daytime. Neha snacks is a good option for lunch serving Indian food. Their saffron lassy is a top notch! ✨ Sunset Head to Shanti Stupa (about 20 mins by car/taxi or half of an hour climb upstairs). This white-domed shanti stupa is especially beautiful at sunset, with its bright colors against the mountain backdrop. Walk around, soak in the spiritual vibe, and enjoy the 360° views. ✨ Evening: Head back to downtown. Spend some time strolling Leh Market (the best hours to visit the market are past sunset and till 8pm)—browse Tibetan handicrafts, and try local snacks. Pick one of numerous restaurants for dinner.
