Life in Hualien—City & Food😋🥰

I will share my favorite food here in Hualien as a university student. The previous post is about the nature in Hualien, here is mainly about the city. City 🎞️Hualien Railroad Cultural Park & Movie Theater I like the historical architecture made by wood here. It’s a nice place to walk and learn about the history of Hualien. Sometimes there are movies and you can check the website for the time. 📍No. 71, Zhongshan Rd, Hualien City, Hualien County, 970 🍢Dongdamen Night Market You can have all kinds of Taiwanese food, especially the indigenous food there. Some famous ones are fried mochi, sweet potato balls, rice wine, stinky tofu, fruit juice, scallion pancake, and so on! It’s a heaven for the food lovers. 📍No. 50, Zhongshan Rd, Hualien City, Hualien County, 970 🍿New Paradiso It is the only Vieshow cinema in Hualien, so I always go here to watch movies with my friends. If you go to the A+ room, the chair is quite spacious like a sofa. 📍No. 503, Section 1, Nanbin Rd, Ji’an Township, Hualien County, 973 Food 🥬阿宏素食 It is for real the best vegan food you can ask for in Hualien. The meal is very affordable for a university student and you can actually feel full after eating it. They use five grains rice, so it’s very healthy. They also sell stinky tofu there, which is one of my favorite foods in Taiwan! 📍No. 245, Section 2, Zhongshan Rd, Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, 974 🍜 家畇素食 It is the other best vegan food in Hualien. It’s around Hualien City. The best option for me is stinky tofu kimchi noodles. They add a lot of vegetables and the stinky tofu is good for the microbiome in the stomach, so I consider it a healthy and flavorable option. 📍No. 90, Ziyou St, Hualien City, Hualien County, 970 🫐 Sadboysclub（Brunch、Açaí Bowl、Coffee) They have beautiful smoothie bowl with a variety of fruit. It’s a good place for relaxation and reading. 📍970, Hualien County, Hualien City, Minde 4th St, 7-1號1樓 🍛 CURRY MAN I really like their Japanese curry. The price is reasonable and the food is decent. 📍No. 15-1, Datong St, Hualien City, Hualien County, 970 🐳Lost Whale It’s a bit more pricy restaurant around campus, but the food is delicious and they serve all kinds of drinks and dessert. 📍No. 62, Section 3, Zhongshan Rd, Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, 974 🐱甜嘴貓Sweet Cat I love the spaghetti here and the handmade dessert. It’s a cozy restaurant beside the university. 📍974, Hualien County, Shoufeng Township, 中正路261巷2號 This is just a small part of my life, but all the places mean a lot to me and give me the best memories while I was studying here.
