Tiger’s Head Hike

We decided to do the Tiger’s Head Hike on the 24th of January, starting from Tung Chung MTR Station, and ending at Discovery Bay North Plaza. From the MTR Station, we walked through Citygate, and continued past the Caribbean Coast Housing Estate, until we arrived at the PetroChina Petrol Station. From here, look for a path that continues past the Petrol Station, and bring you along the side of the MTR tracks. Continue walking along this path until you arrive at a pedestrian underpass. Pass under the highway, and continue walking straight onto a road. You are now on the Olympic Trail. On the Olympic Trail, you will pass through the villages of Pak Mong, Ngau Kwu Long and Tai Ho San Tsuen, until you arrive at a peak with multiple intersections. On the path which goes towards Mui Wo, you will take a left turn. You are now on the path towards Tiger’s Head. On this path, you will pass by Wong Chuk Long Shan, Standing Rock and Wo Sheung Tung, before arriving at the peak known as Tiger’s Head (Lo Fu Tau). Just below the peak, you will have a few paths to choose from; they could bring you to Discovery Bay North or South Plaza. We opted for the path which leads towards the North Plaza, as we were craving a slice of Paisano’s Pizza! Just a warning that the descent may be more difficult than the ascent due to the steepness of the dirt slope, which makes it more difficult to grip onto. There were a few slips by us, but nothing serious! We managed to stay on our feet and make it down safely! Here are the statistics of our hike: • Moving Time: 3 hours minutes • Average Pace: 14 minutes per kilometer • Elapsed Time: 3 hours 10 minutes • Elevation Gain: 608 meters • Maximum Elevation: 457 meters I hope you can use them to effectively plan out your hike. #hiking #nature #staycations #mytripvlog #tripblazers #hk

When going to Tung Chung, people often say that they want to see the Big Buddha! But the stairs of the Big Buddha were under maintenance last time, and were temporarily closed for visiting, but going to the nearby Heart Sutra Forest is still very 🉐️!! First-class check-in🌼🫰 The most important thing is of course good weather to see such light😆🌈👍🏻 You might as well take a ride on the Ngong Ping Cable Car on Lantau Island🚡 The last time I took it was probably 10 years ago, Now that I am older and face a lot of pressure, I have such a moment to see the scenery Just 15 minutes is already a good mood to relax👍🏻🥰 #Local Tour #Good Place to Check In #Hong Kong Girl Check In #Good Place for Parents and Children #Good Place for Couples to Date #Get Away from the Hustle and Bustle #Relieve Stress #Play on Holiday #Get Close to Nature #Relax Yourself #enjoylife #beautyday#holiday #nature

Hong Kong adventure? Absolutely! 🚠 I did a day trip out to Lantau Island—hit up the iconic Ngong Ping 360 cable car, squeezed in some hiking, and watched the sunset golden hour that totally lit up my feed. 🌅 Top Spots to Visit: - Ngong Ping 360: Start your day with this epic cable car ride from Tung Chung to the Ngong Ping Village—panoramic views of the island and South China Sea are next-level! - Lantau Island: The island’s hiking trails are open all day (Hong Kong Outlying Islands, Lantau Island)—do the wisdom trail loop or trek toward Sunset Peak for killer scenery. - Sunset Watch: Head up the hiking path about 1.5 hours before sunset for those golden hour pics (seriously, don’t forget your power bank for the phone-cam marathon). Personal tips: Book your Ngong Ping 360 tickets on trip.com ahead of time to skip the queues! If you want a more chill hike, bring light snacks and some extra water—Lantau’s breezy but the hills can be real. For the sunset, hang out at the higher lookouts, your Insta will thank you. Getting there & Around: Catch the MTR to Tung Chung, then walk to Ngong Ping 360 terminal. Cable car drops you straight at the village for easy hiking access. Local buses also cruise all over the island if you need a backup plan. What to Eat: Grab a tofu pudding in Ngong Ping Village—famous for a reason! Or refuel with noodles at a tiny shop after your hike. Extra tips: No visa needed for most travelers. Hong Kong dollar cash is easiest. Weather? Humidity’s real, so pack a light layer. #hkonbudget #LantauIsland #NgongPing360 #HongKongHikes #GoldenHour #tripdotcom
