#couplestrip #familytravel This area comes alive at night, with bars and restaurants that mainly centre around Staunton and Elgin Streets. Although many tourist guides still direct people to Lan Kwai Fung, it’s been a long time since it has been a go-to area. Soho is a much nicer and livelier area to head to. It’s easy to get to from Central, using the Mid-Levels escalator. You can step straight off the escalator at Staunton or Elgin St. Like all of Hong Kong, it’s very safe to walk around at night, and part of the fun is strolling down the street and picking out places you like the look of. It's a popular area, so if you haven’t booked in advance, I'd recommend choosing a restaurant first and securing a table for later in the night. Then you are free to head off elsewhere for pre-dinner drinks. Holy Fook and Chom Chom (upmarket Vietnamese) are two reliably good, fun places to eat. We also go regularly to Bouchon (French) and the more casual Motorino (pizza). A cluster of fun bars has grown up around Lower Peel Street in the last few years, although they are frequently full, with people standing out on the street with a drink. Around the corner, back on Hollywood Rd, Quinary and La Cabane are smarter bars where you will get a seat.
