🌈Yu Guoyuan Solo Exhibition – Carnival 📅May 5 to June 11, 2022 This exhibition takes the audience deep into the artist’s growth experience and transformation by depicting iconic characters from ancient carnivals, fairy tales and myths. Carnival🎉 Yu Guoyuan depicts carnival as a scene where freedom and chaos are compatible. Through carnival, humans participate in the cycle of life, inevitably approaching death, but also seem to be freed from the fear of death. Mythology The artist used the flood myth depicted in the Old Testament of the Bible to develop a theme that runs throughout the exhibition. Fairy Tale 🎇 Through Goodbye Peter, the artist depicts the fiery sacrifice at the funeral of Peter Pan (the boy who refused to grow up), suggesting that a person can end his past self through symbolic death and gain new life. Yu Guoyuan's works in this exhibition use thick painting methods to increase the three-dimensionality and vividness, making them more like sculptures. #localtourism #2022exhibition
