I wonder if Ho Nam from Causeway Bay is just as handsome! Mong Kok Located in Kowloon, it is one of the most densely populated areas in Hong Kong. So crowded that even breathing feels cramped. Buildings are a mix of old and new, and from time to time, you see news reports about stones falling from old buildings— Are they playing Mario Adventure?! During rush hour, traffic is crowded and slow. For Hong Kong bus drivers, this feels like torture, because they are cool, treating the accelerator like a brake! So wild! When the green light turns on, it feels like watching an F1 race. There are many types of street markets here, well-known ones include: Ladies' Market selling all kinds of sundries (I used to love shopping there, but now that I’m older, I don’t need so many beautiful useless things...) Sneaker Street with major sports brands and sneakers (the goods here are very new and complete, with many specialty stores, but you really have to compare prices at three shops to avoid losing out!) Goldfish Market where various aquatic animals are sold in bags (It’s so hot! Doesn’t the water in those bags get warm?) There are many street markets—food and goods (probably) can all be found! I also unexpectedly tried Kam Wah Café’s pineapple bun (actually just passed by and smelled it~) Warm bread with a slab of butter— standing by the roadside eating while watching the crowded streets of Mong Kok has a special flavor! Later, when I checked at home, I found out it’s Hong Kong’s famous number one pineapple bun! Darn—I should have taken more bites! On Nathan Road, a whole row of Chow Tai Fook, Chow Sang Sang, Luk Fook Jewelry, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Omega, Longines flagship stores and main stores— the air conditioning at the entrances is so cool. For now, I’ll just feel the power of money with my eyes and skin. Langham Place This mall appears in every travelogue, featuring Hong Kong’s longest indoor escalator, with a strong sense of interior design. The mall’s spiral walkway design makes you walk around in circles— not missing a single store—really smart! By the way, before Langham Place was planned, this area was a well-known red-light district with nightclubs, karaoke, massage parlors, and a concentration of the sex industry. It was a relatively complicated area in Hong Kong. Now Mong Kok’s nightlife vibe has faded, replaced by more everyday life and shopping atmosphere! This is a bustling street market maze, famous for dazzling shopping. If you want to experience the lively, everyday Hong Kong vibe, Mong Kok is the top choice!
