Explore the volcanic rock island of Pak Kok Chau in Hong Kong

Pak Kok Chau is a small island formed by hexagonal columnar volcanic rocks, showcasing a unique geological landscape that is truly spectacular to witness. Visitors can enjoy hiking adventures 🧗🏼♀️ and underwater exploration 🤿. To get there, take a pre-booked speedboat from Clear Water Bay Second Beach. It is recommended to depart in the morning and return by evening. Below is our suggested photo-taking route: Dazhaokou ➡️ Silver Bottle Neck ➡️ Western-style Coffin Rock ➡️ Moon Cliff ➡️ Cannon Rock This route does not require swimming; you can simply walk along the coastal edges. Even those without experience can follow the stairs and concrete paths to hike up and enjoy the stunning volcanic rock formations on both sides of the shore. Personally, I find Cannon Rock the most awe-inspiring. Using aerial photography can capture its grandeur even better. With Moon Cliff as the backdrop, you can photograph the hexagonal columnar volcanic rocks. However, climbing is required to reach this spot, so it is not recommended for those without experience. Pak Kok Chau is an uninhabited island with no supplies available! Please prepare sufficient food and water, bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent, and wear amphibious shoes for easier hiking and water activities.
