Living, Dining, and Playing in the Clouds with a Sea View at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

Sea View Hotel 🏨The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong ✨Open for over ten years, this hotel overlooking Victoria Harbour from over a hundred floors up still holds its unique charm. This is our second stay after many years, specially coming back to savor this classic and elegant hotel. I have to say, the well-established hotels in Hong Kong are still pretty well maintained. 🚄After exiting the high-speed rail station, we followed the signs on foot and easily found the hotel entrance. Check-in was at the lobby on the 106th floor. Surprisingly, the front desk staff were still wearing the same uniforms as last time, haha! The smooth check-in process was very nice, and we were upgraded to a Victoria Harbour view room, though we had to wait a bit before checking in. So we headed to Tin Lung Heen for a Michelin-starred meal to pass the time. (Dining experience will be shared later~) 🛌The room was on the 113th floor. Although it was a Victoria Harbour view, the view was slightly off-center. Well, it was a free upgrade, so no complaints. The room wasn’t large, and the interior decor felt a bit dated, but the highlight was definitely the unbeatable view outside the window. On a good day, just sitting by the window and enjoying the scenery could fill an entire afternoon. 🏊The gym equipment was complete. We went swimming in the afternoon. The poolside loungers and pool were quite crowded. What was special was an outdoor terrace with a hot tub. After swimming, stepping out to the gentle breeze while soaking in the hot tub was so refreshing~ 🍽️Dining at Tin Lung Heen, a Michelin-starred restaurant, was one of the main reasons for staying again at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. However, the meal was a bit disappointing. We arrived at the reserved time and were given a window seat with a nice view. The lunch crowd was quite large, and the staff didn’t immediately offer the tea or menu. We ordered diced beef tenderloin, garoupa belly, shrimp balls, recommended prawn toast, and Dongxing grouper siu mai. The dim sum was okay, but the dishes were all covered in heavy sauces, which didn’t quite meet a Cantonese person’s expectations for Cantonese cuisine. It wasn’t bad, but just not to our liking. It felt like the flavors had been internationalized, which was a bit of a letdown. 🍳Breakfast was on the same floor, and you could request a window seat with a view. It was a combination of à la carte and buffet. The à la carte menu was quite interesting, not the usual breakfast options. My family ordered a salmon sashimi rice bowl, which tasted good. #Hlog The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
