Ngong Ping, Lantau Island (Heart Sutra Forest)

The Heart Sutra Forest is located at the foot of Phoenix Hill on Lantau Island. It is a collection of calligraphy of the Heart Sutra by Professor Jao Tsung-i, a master of Chinese studies. The entire calligraphy is engraved on the wooden pillars of the garden. Because it looks like ancient bamboo slips, it is named "Heart Sutra Forest". There are 38 wooden pillars in total, on which are calligraphy works by the master of Chinese studies, Jao Tsung-i, and engraved with verses from the Heart Sutra, displaying a natural and unsophisticated state of mind. Transportation: Take the cable car from Tung Chung Cable Car Station at Exit B of MTR Tung Chung Station to Ngong Ping, which takes about 25 minutes. After getting off the cable car, walk along Ngong Ping Village to Ngong Ping Plaza and follow the signs. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the destination.
