Hong Kong Declared Monuments @ Kowloon City Hau Wong Temple

The Hou Wang Temple is located at the junction of Union Road and Tung Tau Village Road near Kowloon City in Wong Tai Sin District. It was built in 1730. The temple adopts a three-storey architectural design. The main hall enshrines the Hou Wang statue, and there are iron incense burners and stone carvings. Although the environment here is not big at a glance, it looks like it is full of incense. Many devotees who pass by will enter the temple to worship and pray to the gods to bless their families. The temple preserves many cultural and artistic artifacts, including several sets of stone bay reliefs on the walls and an iron incense burner engraved with the four characters "In front of the Hou King's Seat" The stone carvings of the character "Crane" and many plaques include the wooden plaque of "Zhi Cheng Qian Zhi" was given by Lai Zhenbian, deputy general of Guangdong Dapeng Association stationed in Kowloon Walled City during the Guangxu period of Tongzhi, and "Zhiyang Hoe" was given by He Changqing, deputy general of Dapeng Association in 1888. The "Inscription on the Reconstruction of Yang Hou Wang's Palace", erected in the second year of Tao Guang (1822), is the oldest inscription in Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon.
