Usually, people go to Hallstatt for a day trip, but I highly recommend staying at a hotel with a view of Lake Hallstatt and exploring the quiet Hallstatt. Hallstatt is such a popular tourist destination that it's noisy with group tourists during the day, but it gets quiet in the evening. I was so happy to walk along the quiet Lake Hallstatt. At the Heritage Hotel Hallstatt where I stayed, you can use the private sauna if you make a reservation in advance. I was so happy to enjoy the warm sauna after a walk in the cold air! And we booked a lake view room, so we could enjoy the snowy mountains and lake of Hallstatt while sitting in the room!! The breakfast was also delicious because it had a variety of food. If you are looking for a hotel in Hallstatt, I highly recommend the Heritage Hotel.
