This time, we’re introducing "Hakoneji Kaiun," located just a 10-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station 🚃. Hotel Overview 🏨: The hotel is medium-sized, with five floors. The first and second floors are public spaces, including the lobby, shops, and restaurant. The third and fourth floors are guest room levels 🛏️, while the fifth floor houses ♨️ public baths and private onsen rooms (reservation required). Room Details 🛏️: The room type we stayed in was a traditional Japanese-style room. The layout is typical of most onsen ryokans, featuring tatami mats, a private balcony, and a toilet (but no shower facilities). However, there’s no bed-making service 😮—guests need to set up their own bedding. Dining and Service 🍱🤵🏻: Dinner is a Japanese-style kaiseki meal, featuring locally sourced seasonal ingredients such as kinmedai (golden eye snapper) 🐟 and citrus fruits 🍊🍋. The taste is decent, and the presentation is full of ceremonial flair 🌟. Unlimited drinks are included 🍻, leaving no room for complaints 👍🏻. Breakfast is also Japanese-style, consisting of seven small dishes, miso soup, steamed pork, grilled mackerel, and rice. Similarly, the taste is average, with a focus on presentation 📸. Lastly, hotel staff can communicate with foreign guests in basic English, and the restaurant provides English menus detailing the ingredients used.
