It’s a strangely familiar city, and the more I walk, the more curious I become and the more comfortable I become. I’d like to recommend this place to people who want to travel in their daily lives rather than just sightseeing! ⸻ Day 1 – Waterfall & Alley Stroll in the City 🏨 I recommend the Nanming District (南明区) area for accommodation → Easy to walk around, and there are many local restaurants, markets, and teahouses nearby → Safe to walk at night! 🌊 Morning – Zhaoyanghe Waterfall (甲秀楼 + near Hongfu Temple) → A small waterfall in the middle of the city → The combination of old buildings + bridges + streams of water + walking paths is really pretty → It’s quiet because there are more local walkers than tourists ☕ Afternoon – Teahouse & Alley Cafe Tour → Guiyang is a city with many teahouses! → Recommendation: Traditional tea house or quiet tea house with bamboo interior → Recommended white tea, handmade fruit tea, and goji tea! → Small cafes in the alleys also have good quality desserts 🍲 Dinner – Local market food → Spicy tofu dishes, spicy stir-fried noodles, chicken skewers, etc. at Guiyang Night Market → Highly recommended if you like spicy food with a strong pepper flavor! → It was also great to take it to go and eat it on the terrace of the hotel ⸻ Day 2 – Walking & shopping ⛩ Morning – Walking around the city temple or old government office street → Take a quiet look around Hongfu Temple, → Walk along the old government office street. Street stalls, bookstores, and teahouses are connected 🧧 Lunch & Souvenir Shopping → Dried mushrooms, mountain tea, ethnic embroidery accessories, handmade teacups, etc. → Many quiet souvenir shops, reasonable prices → Then transfer to train station or airport ⸻ ✅ Guiyang Travel Tips • 🛵 It is recommended to walk rather than ride a bike around the alleys around the waterfall (there are many stairs and narrow streets) • ☕ The teahouses are quiet and deserted between 2 and 4 pm • 🧣 The weather is cool → Bring a thin outerwear • 🛍 The quality of the souvenir corners next to local select shops or cafes is better than the traditional market • 🌃 The night view is more atmospheric when walking along the alley lights than along the river ⸻ ✍️ Final Review Guiyang is not big, but the feeling contained within it is quite deep.
