Finally seeing Elephant Trunk Hill from my language textbook in real life!

Since childhood, I’ve known about Elephant Trunk Hill through my language textbook, and now I’ve finally seen it in person! As the emblem of Guilin City, Elephant Trunk Hill is a must-visit spot for every tourist coming to Guilin. The Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area is actually quite large, with many other attractions. However, my main focus was Elephant Trunk Hill, and I wasn’t particularly interested in the other spots, so I just took a quick tour of the hill and left the area to save time for other destinations. I entered through Gate 3 of the scenic area and walked along the lakeside on the right-hand side to reach Elephant Trunk Hill. Afterward, I retraced my steps and exited through Gate 3 again. If you want to spend more time in the scenic area without backtracking, you can enter through Gate 1 and exit through Gate 3. There are more attractions to explore in the direction of Gate 1. Elephant Trunk Hill attracts many visitors daily, especially on weekends when there are numerous tour groups. If you want to capture photos without crowds, it’s best to visit early in the morning when the park opens or go in the evening to see the night view of Elephant Trunk Hill. I visited both during the day and at night. During the day, the hill is lively and interesting, with bamboo rafts gliding across the river. At night, it becomes tranquil and mysterious, with a thin mist rising from the river, adding an enigmatic atmosphere to the scene.
