Real Experience! What is the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center Yuexiu Marriott Like? I recently experienced the newly opened Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center Yuexiu Marriott in 2023. I had high expectations before checking in, as it has 850 rooms and a Lingnan courtyard style, which sounds very attractive. After staying there, I have many feelings to share with you. I. Overall Evaluation This hotel does have some highlights in terms of hardware facilities, but there is room for improvement in terms of service. I hope that there will be improvements in the future to give guests a more perfect experience. II. Areas for Improvement (I) Service Details 1. Concierge Service: Although there are concierge staff at the hotel entrance, the service performance needs to be strengthened. Although there were many people at the time, this should not be an excuse for the lack of service. Ideally, the concierge should provide enthusiastic guidance and actively help with luggage, so that guests can feel the care from the moment they step into the hotel. 2. Check-in Reception: A large hotel with 850 rooms has only two reception desks for check-in, which is slightly insufficient. Although the front desk handles check-in quickly, it ignores the introduction of basic information to guests. Key information such as breakfast time and instructions for using hotel facilities are not actively informed, which makes guests confused about many basic situations in the early stages of their stay. 3. Executive Lounge Information Delivery: Guests need to actively call to inquire about the opening hours of the executive lounge. The hotel should clearly convey such important information when guests check in, so that guests can know in advance and arrange their itinerary reasonably. 4. Breakfast Service: When ordering an iced Americano from the staff during breakfast, it was not delivered until the end of the meal, and no staff came to ask about the situation during this period, which greatly reduced the dining experience. In catering services, timely response to guest needs is a basic requirement. III. Praiseworthy Aspects (I) Hardware Facilities 1. Public Areas: The hardware facilities of the lobby, public areas, executive lounge, and gym are outstanding among hotels of the same level. The decoration style is unique, and the space layout is reasonable, making it suitable for both leisure and business negotiations. 2. Room Facilities: The rooms are equipped with electric toilets, Hansgrohe sanitary ware, and a Jiao Nang coffee machine. The overall placement is reasonable and very convenient to use. The JBL audio system in the room has excellent sound quality, bringing guests a high-quality audio-visual experience. IV. Specific Experience (I) 🚗Location The hotel is located next to Baiyun Mountain in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center, about 30 minutes away from Zhujiang New Town. The surrounding natural environment is beautiful and the air is fresh, making it a good choice for guests who want to be close to nature and enjoy tranquility. However, the geographical location is relatively remote, and it takes a long time to travel to the city center and other prosperous areas. (II) 🏘️Room Type/Layout I stayed in a deluxe mountain view king room. The overall layout of the room is relatively reasonable, and the space is fully utilized. However, although the room area is about 50 square meters, it feels slightly narrow in width, and it is not spacious enough to move around. (III) 🏠Decoration The overall building adopts a courtyard-style design, and the interior is in a new Chinese style, full of rich cultural charm. The hotel has many Zen-inspired art spaces, with potted plants, greenery, and various artworks everywhere, adding a unique artistic atmosphere to the hotel, which is very suitable for taking photos. (IV) 🧹Soundproofing/Hygiene The hotel is newly opened, and the hygiene is good. The rooms are cleaned very cleanly, and all kinds of facilities are spotless. The sound insulation effect is acceptable. The room is basically free from external noise interference, which can ensure a relatively quiet rest environment. (V) 🛌Supplies/Facilities In addition to the high-quality facilities mentioned above, the hair dryer in the room is not very effective. The wind power and heat are not ideal, which does not match the overall high-quality hardware facilities of the hotel. I hope it can be replaced and upgraded as soon as possible. (VI) 💰Average Consumption The price is around 1,000, which is significantly more cost-effective compared to some expensive and old hotels in Guangzhou. It is still relatively cost-effective to be able to enjoy newer facilities and a relatively comfortable environment at this price. (VII) 💗Other Tips 1. Understand the opening hours and relevant regulations of the hotel's various services in advance to avoid inconvenience caused by information asymmetry. 2. Since the hotel is located slightly far away, if you plan to visit the city center, plan your travel time and transportation in advance. 3. The hotel has a superior natural environment. You may wish to get up early and take a walk around to feel the fresh air and natural scenery. In general, the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center Yuexiu Marriott has its unique advantages, such as newly renovated hardware facilities, unique architecture and decoration style, etc., but there is still a lot of room for improvement in service details. I hope the hotel can pay attention to these issues and continue to optimize its services to become a hotel with excellent software and hardware.
