Planning a Trip to Guangzhou? Just Consider These 3 Things! 7 Days Itinerary

We were super happy with our itinerary—probably the most successful family trip we’ve ever had! Here’s our actual itinerary for Guangzhou: • Day 1: Arrive – Mehood Liz Hotel (near the airport) • Day 2: Check-in at CityNote Hotel – Guangdong Museum – Haixinsha – Dafosi Temple • Day 3: Nanyue King Museum – Yuxi Study – Massage – Shopping at Beijing Road • Day 4: Guangzhou Art Museum – Yiyuan South Road – Canton Tower – Shopping at Beijing Road • Day 5: Yongqingfang – Zhongshuge Bookstore – Movie at Ping’an Grand Theater – Cantonese Opera Museum – Moon Bridge – Bruce Lee’s Former Residence • Day 6: Baomo Garden – Shopping at Beijing Road • Day 7: Dafosi Temple – Beijing Road – Airport How to Plan a Great Itinerary? Honestly, it’s not about reading countless travel guides or making endless plans. The key is to constantly remind yourself of the purpose of this trip! When traveling with family, the most important thing is spending time together. Skipping or adding a sightseeing spot doesn’t really matter. If you’re traveling for sightseeing and photo ops, go with friends instead. When traveling with parents, comfort is the priority. Even for us younger ones, too much running around gets exhausting and frustrating, which ruins the mood. Key Guangzhou Attractions • Landmarks: Canton Tower, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dafosi Temple • Musical Fountain: Haixinsha • Tourist Hotspots: Yongqingfang • Shopping: Beijing Road, major malls • Cultural Sites: Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Guangdong Museum, Art Museum, Nanyue King Museum, Shamian Island So, how should you plan your itinerary? Just focus on these 3 things: ✅ Weather ✅ Mood on that day ✅ Everyone’s energy levels 👉 Next up: Travel Hacks & Food Recommendations! The best guide is coming! #favouriteltinerary #familytravel #guangzhouhotels #travel #guangzhou

Baomo Garden

Baomoyuan is like a classical Chinese garden on steroids. If Suzhou has the Humble Administrator's Garden, this might be the Ostentatious Plenipotentiary's Garden. Besides being very large, it has some rather untraditional elements, like tackily lit grottoes and a children's wading pool. For the most part, though, it follows the conventions of classical architecture and design. Highlights include exquisite haut relief carvings, a vibrant rose garden and hundreds of colourful koi fish. Located on the outskirts of Panyu District, Guangzhou, a visit here could be combined with a trip to nearby Daliang in Shunde, Foshan or Shawan Old Town in Panyu. A combination ticket is available for Baomoyuan and the neighbouring Nanyueyuan 南粤苑, another garden. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #guangzhou #garden #classical #architecture #photography #springblossoms

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

In Guangzhou? A visit to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, 陈家祠, is a must. Dating originally to the late Qing Dynasty (though heavily restored in parts), the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is one of the finest examples of Lingnan architecture and art. In addition to the building itself, richly ornamented with wood and stone carving and ceramic decorations, it is home to the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, a small but excellently curated display of permanent and rotating exhibits including Chaozhou woodcarving, ceramics, ivory carving, embroidery, paper cutting and more. This is a place I always bring visitors to Guangzhou. Place: Chen Clan Ancestral Hall 陈家祠 Getting there: Metro Station Chen Clan Academy 地铁站陈家祠站 Admission: ¥10 (bring your ID) Recommended for: Tourists, locals, photography, history, architecture, art, culture. #qingmingtravel #urbanexplorer #lightthecity #lightthecityGuangzhou #guangzhou #guangzhouPhotoSpot #guangdong #lingnan #architecture #art #museum #culture #culturetrip #daytrip #staycation #china
