First trip of 2025

In January 2025, I embarked on a journey along the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop to explore the unique charm of this land in winter. Our journey began at Qinghai Lake. Despite the cold weather, the beauty of Qinghai Lake was still breathtaking. The lake was frozen, like a giant mirror reflecting the sky and distant mountains. The surrounding snow-capped mountains looked particularly spectacular in the sunlight, making one marvel at the wonders of nature. Next, we arrived at Chaka Salt Lake. In winter, the salt lake was less crowded with tourists, and more peaceful and mysterious. The white salt flats contrasted with the blue sky, as if we were in a fairy tale world. I walked carefully on the salt flats, feeling the firmness and coldness under my feet, and my heart was filled with awe for this magical land. In Dachaidan, we admired the beauty of Emerald Lake. In winter, the lake was frozen, and the water under the ice was a charming emerald green, like pieces of jade embedded in the earth. The surrounding mountains were covered with snow, contrasting with the lake water, creating a beautiful picture. Crossing the no-man's land, we felt the vastness and desolation of nature. The endless Gobi Desert and the howling wind made us deeply appreciate the tenacity and resilience of life. In this barren land, we occasionally saw some wild animals, whose presence added vitality and vigor to this silent land. The last stop of the trip was Dunhuang. The mural art of the Mogao Caves fascinated me, and each mural contained rich historical and cultural connotations. The Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring were another sight, with golden sand dunes shining in the sunlight, and the Crescent Spring like a pearl in the desert, clear and beautiful. This January trip along the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop allowed me to appreciate the unique beauty of winter. Although the weather was cold, the magnificent scenery and profound cultural heritage of this land made me linger. It was an unforgettable journey that I will always remember.
