Qinghai-Gansu Trip (Part 5): Water Yardang & U-shaped Road.

Yesterday's itinerary was quite tiring, so today we adjusted the plan and took a half-day break. During the afternoon nap, I saw a travel guide that said Dongtai Jiner Lake is currently not worth visiting, so in the afternoon, we only went to the Ussu Special Water Yardang Landform and U-shaped Road. Driving on National Highway 315, the Yardang landforms along the way reminded me of the Devil City in Karamay, Xinjiang. The bizarre landforms brought a different feeling. Due to safety concerns, fences have been erected on both sides of the U-shaped road, and parking for photos is no longer allowed. We stopped briefly and took a quick photo. Compared to the Gannan trip, the altitude sickness this time was much milder, only a slight headache. However, my cold seems to be getting worse. The beauty of the scenery couldn't offset the discomfort in my body. In my opinion, the Water Yardang landform is more visually appealing from an aerial perspective, especially the "Eye of Yardang". As dusk approached, we didn't wait for the sunset. Instead, strong winds arose, darkening the sky and filling it with dust. Compared to yesterday's Emerald Lake, this place left me with a slight regret. This is the sky of Qinghai, unpredictable. Isn't life the same? There's always something to regret!
