Fukuoka Surprise! Stay at a Dream Hotel Inspired by Color Vanguardism

Family, we’re off to Japan again! This time, we explored the super popular Kyushu Fukuoka, which is practically a vacation paradise for Koreans. Everywhere we went, we encountered Korean tourists. During this trip, I stayed at Hotel Il Palazzo near the canal, and it’s truly one of the most unique hotels I’ve ever experienced! The building was completed in 1989, designed by Italian architect Aldo Rossi, and its interiors were revamped in 2023 by Japanese designer Shigeru Uchida, taking the design to a whole new level. From the moment you step into the hotel, you can feel the strong influence of color vanguardism. The entrance is a striking royal blue, and as you walk into the B1 lobby, you’re greeted by a bold combination of bright green and brick red. The contrasting colors create a visual impact that’s simply stunning. But once you enter the room, the elegant and cool gray-blue tones provide a soothing retreat. This hot-on-the-outside, cool-on-the-inside design is truly brilliant—it’s like the calm after a lively celebration, making you fall in love instantly. The room details are also impeccable. The facilities are modern, the environment is clean, and the bed strikes the perfect balance between soft and firm, ensuring a super comfortable sleep. The B1 restaurant offers buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring mainly Japanese and Western cuisine. While the flavors aren’t particularly extraordinary, the bread and desserts are definitely worth trying! If you’re a design enthusiast like me, don’t miss out on this hotel—it’s absolutely worth experiencing!
