1. The departure times for the in-depth Qutang Gorge tour are 10:30, 12:30, and 14:30 (except on holidays). Please arrange your time in advance, otherwise, if you miss a boat, you have to wait 2 hours (see picture 7). 2. It is recommended to take the in-depth tour, which costs an additional 50 yuan on top of the ticket price, and there is no discounted ticket for the elderly. If you take the in-depth tour, you can first take a boat to visit Qutang Gorge, which takes about 1h round trip. There is a guide along the way, and on the return trip, the boat will stop at Jiangxia Ferry, where you can go ashore to visit Chijialou (the background of the 10 yuan RMB Kuimen), and after visiting, take the ferry back to Baidi Temple at the Zhongyi Ferry. 3. The ferry between Zhongyi Ferry and Jiangxia Ferry runs every half hour, departing on the hour. Pay attention to the departure times, otherwise, you'll have to wait if you miss it. If you don't want to climb the mountain to Baidi Temple and prefer to take the boat for an in-depth tour, after passing the covered bridge to Zhongyi Square, you will see the statue of Zhuge Liang (with the Stele of the Departure of the Teacher behind it, see picture 2). Facing the statue, on the left-hand side, there is a path that leads directly to the ferry (the place on the map marked 'Borrowing Arrows with Thatched Boats'). After visiting, you can also take this path to the exit of the scenic area. 📍Location Living in Fengjie County, it takes about half an hour to drive here. There is a huge parking lot next to the entrance of the scenic area, and since it may be past the peak tourist season, only a few cars are parked near the positions close to the parking lot escalator. You can park your car near the escalator (with a white sunshade). 🏔Scenery The main attractions are Kuimen and the entrance of Qutang Gorge. Baidi Temple has a paid photo spot, which is often crowded and requires queuing, mainly with tour groups. They usually don't take the boat to the opposite Chijialou, while individual visitors can continue walking down to Zhongyi Pier, where there is a mountain trail that also offers photo opportunities. After visiting Baidi Temple, go down to Zhongyi Pier and take the boat for an in-depth tour. On the way back, first get off at Jiangxia Ferry to visit Chijialou, then take the ferry back to leave the scenic area. If you don't go for the in-depth tour, you can go directly to Chijialou. The whole trip takes about 3-4 hours.
