Dalingshan Guanyin Temple: A disappointing travel experience

[Rose] On my journey to find spiritual comfort, I came to Dalingshan Guanyin Temple, which is said to be the only temple with an elevator. However, this trip left me with many not-so-good memories. [Rose] This place is only suitable for self-driving. It is not a wise idea to take a taxi. Near the temple is Dalingshan Park. Although the surrounding environment is vast, the road conditions are not satisfactory. For me, walking was very difficult. [Rose] Fortunately, there are enough parking spaces here, so people who drive here don’t have to worry too much about parking. Once you enter the temple, a bunch of incense costs 20 yuan. As for transportation, a motorcycle taxi costs 15 yuan from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain. It cost me 30 dollars to take a taxi from Dalingshan to Guanyin Temple. I thought the return trip would be easy too, but the result was shocking. [Rose] On the way back, the taxi fare soared to more than 100 yuan. This huge gap was really hard to accept. At first, a staff member said he would take us down the mountain for 15 yuan per person, but after learning where we came from during the conversation, he changed his mind and asked for 50 yuan per person. We decisively refused, but unexpectedly, he eventually sent us to the foot of the mountain, farther and farther away from where we lived. [Rose] What’s worse is that they are currently repairing the road there, and they say it won’t be completed until next year. The original straight-line distance of 7.6 kilometers was extended to 20 to 30 kilometers. This series of situations made me extremely disappointed with this travel experience. [Rose] originally had a pious heart and wanted to seek a moment of peace and tranquility in this quiet temple, but she never expected that her mood would be disturbed by these practical problems. Temples are supposed to be places where people can find soothing souls, but this experience made me feel tired and helpless. [Rose] Perhaps, this is a good place for those who have a car and can handle complex road conditions with ease. But for someone like me who relies on public transportation and taxis to get around, I can only come here once, and I'm afraid I'll never have the courage to set foot here again. [Rose] I hope that the traffic here can be improved in the future and the related services can be more standardized and reasonable. I also hope that when I hear news about it again, it will be a gratifying change, rather than the helplessness and troubles of today. [Rose] In short, this trip to the Dalingshan Guanyin Temple left me with more lessons and reflections. When planning a trip, you must fully consider various factors to avoid letting your original good expectations go unfulfilled and putting yourself in embarrassment and difficulties.
