Keyuan Garden in Dongguan & One of the Four Famous Gardens of Guangdong during the Qing Dynasty

Keyuan Garden in Dongguan is one of the four famous gardens of central Guangdong during the Qing Dynasty and a representative work of Lingnan gardens. It is known together with Shunde's Qinghui Garden, Foshan's Liang Garden, and Panyu's Yuyin Mountain House as the Four Famous Gardens of central Guangdong during the Qing Dynasty. Keyuan was built in July of the 30th year of the Daoguang era by Zhang Jingxiu, who resigned from his official position and returned to his hometown. The entire museum covers an area of 17,900 square meters, with pavilions, towers, bridges, and halls all included. The garden layout is undulating and winding, with scenery in every empty space and no wasted areas, making it a treasure of Lingnan gardens. The ancient garden buildings include the Caocao Caotang, Chuyue Pool Pavilion and Windows, Pot-in-the-Sky, Keyuan Pavilion, Kexuan Pavilion, Asking Flowers Courtyard, Huanbi Corridor, Shuangqing Room, Yaoshan Pavilion, Boihong Xiaoxie, Boxi Yuyin, Zhanming Bridge, the Main Gate, Zishu Terrace, and Ketang.
