The astrolabe of the Ottoman Empire is like a prop from a science fiction film, with precise scales recording the astronomical wisdom of the Middle Ages. The most shocking thing is the 180-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, where the blue sea, white sails, and the Doha skyline form a picture frame. At that moment, I. M. Pei's saying "Let the past dialogue with the future" suddenly became concrete. · If the Museum of Islamic Art is classical symphony, then the National Museum designed by French architect Jean Nouvel is a science fiction blockbuster. The exterior of the building looks like countless interlocking golden flying saucers, inspired by the desert rose (a mineral crystal). Walking into the museum is like falling into a light and shadow laboratory: the ancient camel caravans reproduced by 3D projection "walk" from the wall to the front, and the sound of camel bells resounds throughout the exhibition hall. In the contemporary art exhibition area, I saw a falcon sculpture pieced together from oil drum fragments and a neon installation woven from traditional date palm leaves—Doha people use this method to answer the question of "how tradition lives in the present".
