Often called “the last Shangri-La,” Yading Nature Reserve in western Sichuan is a remote gem filled with pristine beauty—snow-capped peaks, clear glacial lakes, wildflower meadows, and sacred Tibetan mountains. It’s less crowded than many other natural parks, making it ideal for hikers and nature lovers looking for solitude and breathtaking scenery. The sacred peaks—Chenresig, Jampayang, and Chanadorje—are revered in Tibetan Buddhism. Getting here takes effort, but the rewards are absolutely worth it.
