Trip Highlights - City with different levels - walk through stairs, lifts and small paths that connect areas - Mix of old and new - see ancient areas like Ci Qi Kou next to tall new buildings - Good for shopping - from fancy malls at Liberation Monument to interesting markets at Hongya Cave - Easy metro system - goes to all main places including the famous Liziba train through a building - Amazing night views - best seen from Nanshan Yikeshu or Hongya Cave - Low prices - food and transport costs much less than Shanghai - Hidden places - small alleys, secret food spots and quiet viewpoints Suggested Itinerary Day 1: Old Streets and City Sights Morning: Visit Ci Qi Kou old town for tea and snacks Afternoon: See Luohan Temple then shop at Liberation Monument Evening: Go to Hongya Cave for night lights and river views Day 2: City Views and Secret Spots Morning: Take Liziba Monorail through the building Afternoon: Walk through Shancheng Alley artsy area Night: See whole city from Nanshan Yikeshu lookout Day 3: Local Life and Metro Trip Morning: Ride Yangtze River Cable Car Afternoon: Visit Eling Park gardens with city views Evening: Eat at Jiefangbei night market Reasons To Love Chongqing - Always something new to find - Very cheap - meals from 10 yuan, metro 2 yuan - Great for photos - night lights, river fog, cool buildings - Simple to get around - good metro and cheap taxis Final Thoughts: Chongqing is amazing and worth many visits Extra Tips - Hire a local guide for at least a day. - Get a balance in your WeChat to pay for the metro.
