Hinoki Forest Village is the earliest forestry village in Taiwan and also the largest Japanese-style building complex in Taiwan. Located in downtown Chiayi, about 5 minutes’ drive from Chiayi Railway Station The Hinoki Village covers a large area and contains nearly 30 Japanese-style wooden historical buildings. All the trees are from Alishan, Chiayi, so the whole park is called the Cypress Village. There are many cultural and creative businesses and shops throughout the park, as well as many exhibition halls to visit. Chiayi's famous Fuyixuan Egg Rolls also has a store here, and there are ice cream cones sold exclusively here. There are also shops that rent Japanese kimonos, where you can experience wearing a kimono and walking in a Japanese-style street. Japanese-style buildings and streets, paired with different flowers blooming in different seasons, really make you feel like you're traveling abroad in a second! Because it occupies a large area, it is very comfortable to walk around and you won’t feel crowded at all It takes about 3 hours to visit the entire park.
