Wat Phra That Pha Ngao is an old temple where many devotees come to pay homage and ask for blessings. It is believed that anyone who is chronically ill and cannot be cured will come to ask for blessings and the monks will help them recover. The name comes from a large rock shaped like a pagoda. When it is hit by the reflection of the sun, it creates a large shadow, so the locals call it Phra That Pha Ngao. There is a way up to the temple. You will see a beautiful view of the Mekong River. Inside the temple, there is also a golden teak church by the river. Inside the church, there is a room for storing ancient Buddhist texts. The temple also opens for people to practice Dhamma on important religious days.
