Attracted by a photo of a swimming pool on a certain platform, and it being an LHW hotel, I chose it, but the actual experience was just like staying at an upscale B&B. This is a hotel under the Lidengshi Hotel Group, mainly a luxury single hotel alliance, abbreviated as LHW. I rarely share hotels under LHW, but during this trip to Chiang Mai, I saw that Lidengshi has two hotels in Chiang Mai, and I chose one of them, which is the Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai that I'm sharing today. When I stayed at this LHW hotel in Chiang Mai, I actually had expectations because the other hotels I've stayed at under this group were quite good, but this one in Chiang Mai really did not meet the standards of an LHW hotel, and the whole experience was disappointing. Upon arrival at the hotel, the first impression was that the location was so remote, with barren hills behind the hotel. The hotel's entrance was very small, you might think it's a private house if you don't look closely, or you might say it's a B&B, not the luxurious boutique alliance LHW I imagined. From the moment the hotel staff prepared ice towels and special drinks to the welcome fruits and handwritten cards in the room, I felt that the details were quite good, and the experience was indeed quite pleasant at that time. The room I stayed in was about 45 square meters, and the minibar was very rich, with coffee, tea, water, etc., but this hotel does not focus on healthy food, such as the snacks in the room drawers that do not have a production expiration date, you don't know the production date, so naturally, you dare not use them. The basic room type, deluxe room, has double basins, which is commendable. The bathroom is very spacious, and the toiletries are bottled, I don't know what brand they use, but it smells very Thai. All deluxe room types in the hotel do not come with a bathtub, positioned as a luxury boutique hotel, and the basic room doesn't even have a bathtub? This can reflect the upper and lower limits of a hotel. A 45 square meter room comes with a small balcony. The bedding was quite comfortable, and I quite liked the overall style. What impressed me in the room were the bathrobes and pajamas, two sets of them, the fabric was very comfortable, especially the pajamas and sleep pants were very comfortable. If you like them, you can contact the hotel front desk to purchase, but you cannot take them away. The evening turndown service was also very thoughtful, with local snacks and a card prepared. Actually, there was nothing wrong with the room itself, the only downside is the price, which doesn't even include a bathtub? The real disappointment was the hotel breakfast. During the two days of my stay, there wasn't much to eat for breakfast, limited to only two items per order, clearly showing cost-cutting, and the ingredients were not fresh. The coffee was terrible, compared to the coffee at the Chiang Mai Intercontinental and Chiang Mai Marriott, it was much worse, just because the coffee beans were not good, the quality was far too poor, and yet the price was more expensive than the other hotels. Where is the justification for your higher price? Because you joined LHW? The breakfast looked very appealing in photos, but it was only good-looking and not tasty, the fruits were not fresh. In such a hot place, they didn't even provide fresh juice for breakfast, it was all mixed. Except for the eggs, which were not a disappointment, everything else was not good. The hotel restaurant's food control was not strict, and I encountered un fresh food in both meals, which I did not expect. The drinks I ordered had spoiled strawberries on top, and the taste was off. Don't think it's good just because it's an LHW hotel under Lidengshi. The hotel's location is very poor, the dining prices are high, it's inconvenient to go out, and the food safety control is not strict. It relies on that popular swimming pool in the courtyard and the LHW brand to maintain its price. With this price, the quality of the ingredients cannot be guaranteed, this hotel does not deserve to join LHW, and its operational level does not meet the standards of international chain hotels. The swimming pool closes at 7 pm.
