Chedi Chang Lom, the main chedi in Lanna art, built in 1840, is a chedi modeled after Chedi Chang Lom of Wat Chang Lom, Sukhothai Province. It has square and round shapes, decorated with 16 stucco elephants. The stairs leading up to the pavilion are decorated with Naga handrails. The spire is a golden bell-shaped chedi. Wihan Luang, built in the present era, has gold murals on red walls telling the story of the creation of the city and temples, both in Wiang Kum Kam and Chiang Mai by King Mengrai.
