Wat Inthakhil Sadue Muang, Chiang Mai

Wat Inthakhil Sadue Muang is located on Inthaworarot Road, Tambon Sriphum, Amphoe Mueang, Chiang Mai Province. It used to be the place where the Inthakhil pillar (city pillar) of Chiang Mai was enshrined. It is located in the heart of Chiang Mai. This temple has an important Buddha image of Chiang Mai for a long time, which is Luang Pho Khao, a Lanna-style Buddha image. Currently, the Inthakhil pillar has been moved to Wat Chedi Luang and Luang Pho Khao has been invited to be enshrined as the principal Buddha image in the chapel. At present, this temple has been promoted to a temple with monks residing during the Buddhist Lent. There is evidence of a bell-shaped principal chedi, a Luang Pho Khao chapel, and octagonal pavilion-shaped secondary chedis in the walls of the Chiang Mai City Arts and Culture Hall.
