Chengdu is a magical place and a perfect place to visit when you only have a short time. There are many things to do in Chengdu and each one is unique in its own way!
Hotel 🏨: We stayed in a pretty central area near TianFu square at the Mercure hotel. The hotel was nice and clean. It was about a 10 minute walk to the pedestrian street.
Attractions:
1. Panda research facility: This is a must when in Chengdu! It’s a simple didi ride away or you can get the metro. When going it’s best to go in the morning. The giant pandas are more active in the morning with them eating breakfast in the cool air. We went when the park opened at 7:30 and the pandas were loving life. After seeing the giant pandas we went and looked at the red pandas! We got lucky and it turns out the red pandas get fed around 8:30-9. They were so cute!!
2. Pedestrian Street: This is the perfect place to walk around and buy amazing food and cool souvenirs!
3. Masked Opera: This show was incredible! It showed the magic of Sichuan culture and the unique dances that go with it. You see the tea pot dance, silt puppets, shadow puppets and the masked changing! I would truly recommend going!
Chengdu is a magical place that you can fit into a weekend trip!
