Chengdu Tianfu Lido Sheraton

I didn’t expect that the last time I checked in in the Year of the Dragon would be in my hometown, Chengdu. This is a classic hotel with a word in its name that looks very similar to mine. It is the first generation of international five-star hotels in Chengdu, which opened nearly a quarter of a century ago (2000), Sheraton Chengdu Lido. This time I stayed in a suite on the upper floors of the hotel, and when I saw the buildings outside the window, I had the illusion that I was seeing the past again. The collective memory of Chengdu people yesterday was largely related to this stadium in the city center. That was the glorious era of the Chinese Super League. The greatest joy of Chengdu people on weekends came from the Quanxing team's home court. Today, this stadium has long been abandoned and no longer hosts any events. The tremendous changes in Chengdu over the past two decades are truly moving. As a textbook of the first generation of five-star hotels in Chengdu, this hotel has also completed a comprehensive renovation in recent years and entered a new chapter with the renewed and upgraded Sheraton brand. The room features a simple design style, full of vitality, a little trendy but not too trendy, and is suitable for both business and leisure. Today I watched the live broadcast of this year's Australian Open men's singles final here. World No. 1 Sinner won the championship without any suspense. What's interesting is that Marriott International is also a sponsor of the Australian Open. I am looking forward to the arrival of May 2025, when I will celebrate the 25th anniversary with Tianfu Lido Sheraton. I recommend it to all my friends who come to Chengdu. [Joyful]
