Puning Temple is one of the Tibetan Buddhist temples among the Eight Outer Temples. Although it is a Tibetan Buddhist temple, its architecture combines Han and Tibetan styles. The front half of the temple is Han style, with the characteristics of traditional Han Buddhist temples, while the back half is Tibetan style, modeled after the Sangyuan Temple in Tibet. The main Buddha statue in Puning Temple is the Thousand-armed and Thousand-eyed Guanyin Bodhisattva, which is 27.21 meters tall. It is a gold-painted wood carving. Puning Ancient Temple stands on the top of the mountain. The Buddhist rhyme lasts for a long time. In the hearts of Chengde people, this is a temple that carries history and culture, and it is also a temple that brings people hope and faith. When Laba Festival comes, porridge will be distributed, and the ingredients for making the porridge will first be chanted, blessed and offered.
