Guangji Gate Tower: A magnificent landmark and historical witness of Chaozhou ancient city Guangjimen Tower, located at the top of the east gate of Chaozhou ancient city, was first built in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370). It has gone through more than 600 years of wind and rain and is the "first of the seven city gate towers" in Chaozhou. This palace-style three-storey hip-and-gable roof attic is full of ancient charm with its double-eaved glazed tiles, vermilion columns and carved beams and painted buildings. Climbing the tower, you can overlook the clear waves of the Han River and the rainbow over the Guangji Bridge, which is truly a stunning view of "watching the tide from the East Tower".
